Tervis Tumbler Review + Tease

Look who got a new toy to play with!

iPad

Psych! Ok I do actually get to play with it, but only for a week. Our public library purchased a number of iPads for rental and after being on the waiting list for a few weeks, my number was finally called! This is only day 2, but it's such a ridiculous tease! I want one so badly now! I think it'll be a while before I can afford one though :( So far the only downside I've seen to this iPad is that it does not have a USB plug, but I've heard other versions have them, right? (And as I write this post on the iPad I realized that don't know how to make my font big, hmmm, I feel like an old grandma. I think I would have to get used to how different Blogger is on this little thing.)

Tervis Tumbler Review

Last week I received a Tervis Tumbler in the mail from the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program! If you haven't heard of Tervis Tumblers, they are basically indestructible, they won't crack, shatter, or melt and come with a lifetime guarantee. They have a double wall insulation so that your hot drinks stay hot and cold drinks stay cold and you don't get that annoying condensation that you sometimes get from hot drinks or washing it.  Another awesome feature is that you can wash them in the dishwasher!

I put the Tervis claims to the test...

Pumpkin smoothie stayed cold!

  • 8 oz milk
  • 1/2 c ice
  • 1/4 c pumpkin
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • pinch of stevia (or other sweetener)
This recipe was very mild as far as sweetness goes, so if you like really sweet add more honey or stevia.

Pumpkin spice (Starbucks imitation) latte stayed hot!

  • See the link below to see the drink recipe.  I thought the drink was really gross at first, but then I realized it just needed a little bit more stevia :)  Enjoy!

Notice no condensation.  I even threw it in the dishwasher to test that claim, and sure enough it came out without condensation and there were no cracks and no water stuck between the two walls of the tumbler!

As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I received a Tervis Tumbler. The opinions and views of this product are my own.

WORKOUTS
Oh and in case I didn't mention, which I'm not sure how I forgot because I can barely move my arms and all I can think about is how sore I am, I killed myself with two days of lifting in a row, keep reading if you'd like to know how to do the same thing to yourself...

Monday Workout
Spider pushups x 20
Lockout pushups x 20
BOSU MB pushups x 10
MB pushup ladder x 4 (fail)

Eccentric pull ups x 7
Wide grip eccentric pull ups x 7
Eccentric chin ups x 7
(Note: I'm doing them eccentrically because I can't do regular ones and I'm trying to build up strength)
BOSU rows (one hand one BOSU, other hand rowing 20 pound weight) 2x12
Bent over row 2x12

Side plank with shoulder raise :30 seconds each side
Shoulder raises 2x7
Bicep triples (curl upper half, curl lower half, curl full) x 7 each

Tuesday Workout-boot camp
:90 of each
-jump square
-imaginary jump rope
-burpees (you didn't think we get away without doing these, did you?)
-push ups -leg rasies
-step up with front raise
-lunges (about every 6 we did pulses)
-plank (last 20 seconds we did them with jump splits)
-tricep dips
-step up with single arm shoulder press
-side leg raises (I hate you, you make my butt and ITband BURN!)

Nope not done, repeat! This time only for :60 each. Try it out, it's a great workout! You will hate me for sharing it with you today, but tomorrow you'll thank me :)

Monday I always did an hour of yoga; Tuesday I did a short 25 minutes run which was painful after boot camp (I never realized how important arms are for running until this run!); today I did a short 2 mile run. This week is taper time for my unofficial half marathon on Saturday, since I decided not to sign up for the Harvest Hustle due to there only being 10 participants :(
