GNO: Pottery Painting Edition

After running the Shamrock Shuffle Saturday morning I headed down the road to La Crosse to have a Girls Night Out with my friend Carrie!

I wasn't there 10 minutes and we were out the door to go paint some pottery!  This is something we have wanted to do for ages, it's on our "La Crosse Bucket List"!

Finished!

They have to "fire" them, so they won't be completely finished for a week or two, and then it's just a matter of getting back together with Carrie to receive my finished mug! I am so excited to see what the colors look like after they are "fired", they are supposed to appear brighter!

She looks like she's drinking coffee, I must be drinking bourbon lol
Since we walked downtown to paint (Hello?! It was 60 degrees in Wisconsin in March, we had to!!), we walked back to get a car.  We were going to come right back downtown, but figured it'd be smart to get a car since it was getting darker and cooler when we finished.  After we grabbed the car we went to Del's, home of the world famous Bloody Mary! On my honor, I have never had a better bloody than Del's, they garnish it with a meal (pepper jack cheese, beef stick, brussels sprout, green olive, pickle)! I never really discovered how wonderful this place was until after I graduated my undergrad from there... such a sad thing.

We finished up the night with ice cream and pampering :)

I love my girl time regardless of who it is with, but Carrie is one of the best to have it with :)

Fitness Plan

Monday: Lift + cardio
Tuesday: Run 5-7 miles w/Brita
Wednesday: Lift + cardio
Thursday: Run 5-7 miles w/ Brita
Friday: Lift + cardio
Saturday: Long run
Sunday: Rest

Other fitness bits from the weekend:

*Friday I ran 8 miles, by myself, in 1:13 - it's been a long time since I've run that far solo
*I ran my Shamrock Shuffle 5K in 30:10 (it was a 3.5 mile course)
*Sunday my mom & I went for a two hour bike ride...this is why I love spring/summer weather!

I didn't really take a real break this week from working out, but I felt good! I did, however, decrease my mileage significantly this week which I am proud of myself for since I was having some hip pain earlier this week. I will be sure to take a day off this week and/or take some definite easy days.
