Whew! Am I ever glad that is over! I'm sure you're wondering what it is that I am so exhausted and excited for the end of, huh? WI STATE TRACK!
Anyone out there a former track runner?
I love our new stadium and track |
As much as I love working this event, it is so incredibly exhausting!
Runners getting in their lanes |
My job here at State Track, for the past four years, is to be in charge of the small concession stand. I basically run back and forth on a gator bringing them food, drinks, cookies, etc. as needed. I know, I know, this doesn't sound all the tiring or difficult. However, if you are the only person hauling all of this stuff, it is!
State records are being broken on this track! |
Today, I lifted and loaded over fifty 24 packs of soda/water/Gatorade (and plenty of other foods) within 3 hours! Not to mention the 96 degree heat (again) today! Needless to say, my arms and body were wiped out!
The Crowd |
So I did what any reasonable person would do and I came home plopped on the couch, turned on the AC, turned on the tv, and drank myself a brewski :)
Just for the record, I usually drink Miller :) |
Yikes! This pic makes my calves look enormous! |
After getting my feet up for a few hours and watching a couple movies... I think I'm ready to go again! My willingness to get up and get going again is aided by my old GA buddies that are back in town tonight :) Off to have a rockin' good night! Hope you have one yourself!
P.S Can you believe that some little high school girl ran the mile in 4:51 (new state record)!!! I can barely run half a mile at my normal pace that quickly! I think maybe sometime this week I might try to run a mile as fast as I can and see how I compare.... It might get ugly! Anyone have a PR anything comparable to that?
How fun! I didn't run track in HS, but ran cross country and have such fond memories of it! Also, a 4:51...frekin' awesome!
ReplyDelete@Katie I know, isn't that INCREDIBLE! Enjoy reminiscing your old CC memories :)
