Melt Away Inner Thighs With This Move

A couple of days ago I was chosen as the winner of a $100 gift certificate for Newton Running shoes from Austin over at Enjoy the Ride!  I have never tried their running shoes, but I hear they are pretty top notch, so I am super excited to purchase my first pair with this gift certificate!  I'll be sure to do a little review after I pick them out and take them for a run.  Thanks again Austin!

Power Workout
I didn't have a ton of time to workout today, since I work(ed) 6-10am and 12-7pm, so I snuck in a quick power workout after work this morning.

-1 mile @ 7.2
Here it is folks, the inner thigh melter...
-1:00 plank splits (put a 5 pound plate under each foot and while in plank position spread legs apart and then pull together... great for inner thighs!)
-1 mile @ 7.5
-1:00 Eiffel towers (stand with bar on back and bend slowly side to side, try to get end of bar as close to your feet as possible, be sure to breathe on your way up and look straight ahead for this one)
-10 eccentric pull/chin ups... my upper body already hurts!

Total time: 25 minutes

Highlight of my day...
Is it sad that the highlight of my day was this ginormous cookie that I got from my bosses wife this morning after I worked out?  She brought in oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from Great Harvest for the staff, what a sweet lady!  If you have never tried a Great Harvest cookie, I highly recommend it!  And if you know how to make cookies that are as chewy and gooey as theirs, please do share!  I brought my cookie with me on my drive home, but somehow when I got home there was only half a cookie! ;)

Don't worry I didn't just eat that for lunch, I also made a little nacho plate with cheese and some homemade salsa, from when my sister and I made some, and an apple.

Off to job #2 then watching my bf's football team play tonight (he's the running backs coach)... Go Huskies!

What are you doing this weekend?  Anyone running races this weekend (good luck!)?

  2. @Tessa @ Amazing Asset Yeah it is seriously difficult to do the plank splits for a full minute... but you can do it!

  4. @Austin They were very yummy, the only thing that could've made them better would've been some chicken :)
